Beaubourg or Center Pompidou, The center was born from the desire of Georges Pompidou (a great lover of modern art), then President of the French Republic, to create in the heart of Paris an original cultural institution entirely dedicated to modern and contemporary creation where the visual arts would be close to books, design, music and cinema.Inaugurated on January 31, 1977, the Pompidou center welcomed, in 2016, more than 3.3 million visitors two annex buildings host the IRCAM and the Brancusi workshop.
